Vital reports in Virginia fall under the supervision of the Virginia Department of Health. The Vital Records Division, as overseen by the Department of Health, is responsible for the maintenance and proper dissemination of Virginia public records such as marriage licenses, divorce decrees, birth certificates, and death reports.
